Computing

Modelling, training and Monte-Carlo evaluation run on rented GPU instances of the 24 GB class in a secured United States region, with persistent volumes, and on a local CUDA workstation. Toolchains are pinned by version and every run records its configuration and output digests. No result depends on hardware that cannot be rented again.

Data infrastructure

Source and pointers are held in version control with a content-addressed binary store, synced by an idempotent, resumable process under an append-only doctrine; a single commit identifier reproduces the corpus. Off-site copies go to immutable, object-locked storage with a daily, weekly and monthly retention ladder and periodic read-back verification. Secrets and deploy keys are held per repository and never committed.

Provenance and verification tooling

An append-only, hash-chained, Ed25519-signed artifact ledger with four checks per entry; an instrument journal that signs each measurement at acquisition with per-instrument sequence numbers; a release gate that runs determinism, reproducibility, cross-model agreement, journal validity, optimisation-gain and probe-sanity checks before any result is admitted (Finding 2026.4); and a claim-status discipline carried in every artifact's metadata. The verifier is a separate implementation from the writer.

Laboratory access

The programme is self-funded and holds access to dry-laboratory analysis capacity and, through academic characterisation partners on a fee-for-service basis, to wet-laboratory space and characterisation instruments: Raman spectroscopy at several excitation wavelengths, atomic-force microscopy, and focused-ion-beam sectioning. Materials and measurement are bought rather than built: commercial CVD graphene wafers and films, pre-patterned field-effect test chips, a probe station, and a glovebox, with day-rate instrument time for Raman and AFM. The programme owns the method (the pipeline, the harness, the ledger) rather than the instruments.

Personnel

The author leads the programme and the platform. A small team of part-time researchers covers dry-laboratory analysis and, at the measured phase, acquisition at partner instruments, with a fractional metrology and quality consultant engaged for the blind-repeatability and verification legs. The team expands with funding.

Research environment

The work is carried out by SSX360 Corp., a Delaware corporation based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, whose provenance and audit tooling is the programme's infrastructure and whose open protocol, Matrix Scroll, is released under Apache-2.0. The company's positioning as an independent audit layer, one that never holds the keys of the systems it verifies, is the institutional form of the programme's independence rule (§2.5).
