> How to cite the library and its findings, with the citation and BibTeX forms.

## Citing a finding

Cite a finding by its number, version, and date, with the address of its page. The recommended form is printed at the foot of every finding, together with a BibTeX entry:

> R. J. York, “Conventions for signed findings in this library”, Finding 2026.1, ryanjamesyork.com, version 1.0, 2026-09-03. https://ryanjamesyork.com/findings/2026/1

The author's ORCID iD is [0009-0007-5979-7949](https://orcid.org/0009-0007-5979-7949); repositories and reference managers that take an ORCID should use it.

Because a finding's digest changes when it is corrected, a citation that needs to fix the exact text should also give the digest printed on the page at the time of citing.

## Citing a chapter

Chapters are reference text and are revised without individual version numbers. Cite them by chapter and section together with the library's version and release date from the footer of the page:

> R. J. York, *Ryan James York — Library of findings*, §3.2, Version 1.0.0, release date 2026-09-03. https://ryanjamesyork.com/3#s2
